Stark Library Foundation’s Holiday Home Tour

Dec 2, 3-7pm | Dec 3, 1-5pm

Nothing says holidays, like a festive home! The Stark Library Foundation is lighting up Stark County with holiday spirit during the Holiday Home Tour of Homes event. This is a must-attend event for anyone who’s in need of a seasonal dose of inspiration for the holiday, while helping raise funds for the Stark Library Foundation.

During the Holiday Home Tour of Homes, tourists can wander through five charming homes that beautifully capture the season’s true spirit. Whether it’s the cheering smell of scented pinecones, or the twinkling likes on the tree, you’re bound to experience the warmth and joy during this magical tour. Fasten your sleigh belts and join us for a night of merriness!

The tour will be open Saturday, December 2, from 3-7 p.m. and Sunday, December 3, from 1-5 p.m. Tickets are $50 per person and must be purchased in advance on the Stark Library Foundation’s website. Tour-goers are welcome to tour one or all five beautifully decorated homes, and tickets are valid for both days. From twinkling lights to exquisitely adorned Christmas trees, attendees will discover endless ideas to translate into their homes.

Featured homes include:

Avondale Home - In the heart of the historic Avondale neighborhood is a 1950s ranch filled with vintage-inspired Christmas cheer. The home showcases an abundance of carefully curated Christmas trees and décor. Visitors will find a snowman, Grinch, candy, heritage, and food-themed trees, among others. Much of this holiday cheer has been featured as part of the owner's blog, The Christmas Gals. Before you leave, be sure to snap a photo inside the vintage wood sleigh in the front yard!

Mount Vernon Home - This Federal-style, pre-Civil War home, built in 1846 by Charles and Josephine Monnin from France, was the original farmhouse of the neighborhood and is one of the oldest occupied residences in Stark County. It originally sat on over 175 acres of land, containing an orchard, a coal mine, and a one-room schoolhouse. Each year, the family gathers in the 3,000 square-foot home to celebrate the holidays. Their themed Christmas trees range from traditional to a bird tree. Due to its age, this home is not handicapped accessible.

Ridgewood Home – Featured in Better Homes and Gardens' America's Best Front Yard' in 2018, this 2,000-square-foot Cotswold-style cottage was built in 1926. All décor is proudly and artistically assembled by the homeowners who are self-professed 'maximalists' when it comes to décor. The home is adorned with materials collected over the years, including many vintage, family heirloom, and new and quirky ornaments for their Christmas tree. Visitors should be on the lookout for the Christmas lizard!

Meadowlands Home – Built in 1996 and recently renovated, more than fifteen trees are on display in this Jackson Township home. The homeowners, who are decorating their newly remodeled home for the first time, describe their style as Christmas glam, along with some retro inspiration. Guests will get an exclusive look at an extensive collection of Santa, including a unique collection of Coca-Cola Santas. Amongst RAZ, MacKenzie-Childs, Bethany Lowe, and Marc Roberts décor, be sure to watch for a tree filled with vintage ornaments and a breathtaking upside-down tree.

Aberdeen Ridge/Aberdeen Glenn Home – This beautiful two-story open-concept Jackson Township home, transformed into a Winter Wonderland during the holiday season, is often referred to as 'Santa's Village.' The first floor features stunning florals and décor from local florists and tree farms, enhanced by a full-service hot cocoa bar for holiday visitors. The speakeasy-themed basement features a holiday bar that remains decorated year-round. More than ten beautifully decorated trees appear throughout the home, as well as several heirloom nativity scenes.  A Lego train set circles one of the homes' ten trees. Finally, mixing tradition are heirloom nativity scenes and a special space in the home is dedicated to the family's favorite holiday movie, Christmas Vacation.

Homes may be visited in any order. The Meadowlands house will also feature raffle baskets and hand-blown glass ornaments for purchase while supplies last.
